Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has hinted -- not for the first time -- that he wants to play a DC Comics superhero in a movie. This newest hint comes from an interview with "Today" on Tuesday (July 22).

In the interview, Johnson explains that he has a project in the works that's only waiting for a script before it can get going. "Yes, it is going to happen. I've been dying to announce it, by the way," he tells host Savannah Guthrie. "We still have to find the right writer. We're having two, three takes right now. But I'm very excited about it. It's going to be great. I've been waiting a long time for this, and so have the fans, by the way."

While this interview doesn't give any hints as to which character Johnson might play, speculation has arisen from another interview, this one with TotalFilm.com in which Johnson claims the character has "the power of Superman." He also hints that fans should just "say the word."

These two clues have led some to believe that Johnson is hoping to play Shazam, a classic superhero since the 1940s.

But there is nothing more concrete than this at this time.
