While it may not be playable, CD Projekt RED is showing off their new game, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" at the 2013 Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3). During their presentation, the company was able to preview a very early build (pre-alpha) of the game..
Everything about the third entry in "The Witcher" feels bigger and more epic as the game becomes an open-world adventure. According to developers, the playable area is 30 times bigger than "The Witcher 2" and includes a staggering 100 hours of game play, once you factor in the main story and all of the side quests. Additionally, there are no loading screens. New parts of the game load as you play, eliminating the need for load times.
With a world so big, CD Projekt has also implemented a fast travel option to help the player get around the world in a more speedy manner. The company is also vastly improving the dialogue options, giving the users the opportunity to alter the game through their choices.
The player may also face consequences for any decision they make. In many instances, the right choice in any given situation may not be apparent and the consequences could possibly occur later in the game.
While "The Witcher 3" is a role-playing game at its heart, the combat system has also been redesigned to make it more exciting and quick. The A.I. in the game isn't playing around either, so defeating an opponent is actually going to take some thought, rather than a bunch of hacking and slashing.
In short, "The Witcher 3" looks to be the biggest and best in the series. It's set for release in 2014 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PCs.
