Eagles running back LeSean McCoy accused of assault
TMZ reports that the NFL star has been sued by a woman who claims that he humiliated and assaulted her on a party bus before leaving her on the side of the road on the New Jersey Turnpike. The woman, using the alias "Mary Roe," claims in her suit that McCoy invited 15 women to join him on the bus as it went from Philly to a NYC nightclub on Dec. 18, 2012.
As the trip was underway, the suit alleges that McCoy, with the help of his bodyguard and a few other men, began spraying some of the women with water. Roe claims she protested this, prompting McCoy to order his bodyguard, Big John, to "get her."
The suit, which was filed on Friday (May 10) in Philly, goes on to assert that either McCoy or Big John then hit her in the face, knocking her to the ground. While there, she was allegedly restrained by the men, who poured a beverage all over her. She adds that she was then forcibly removed from the bus and left on the side of the road.
It's alleged that some of the other women complained about this, so Roe was brought back aboard the bus, where she was taken to a nearby rest stop and left for good.
Roe is suing McCoy for more than $50,000 in damages for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence. She alleges she suffered head trauma, a disc protrusion on her spine, bad sprains, contusions and bruises all over her body and severe shock.
McCoy has remained silent on the suit, but he did speak with reporters on Monday to make an allegation of his own. He accused teammate (and renowned animal abuser) Michael Vick of cheating in a recent footrace between the two.
"I always call him old, I tell him nobody over 30 can beat me in any race," the 24-year-old McCoy tells reporters. "He jumped off. He started early."
