Eddie Vedder postpones solo tour, cites nerve damage

Vedder was scheduled to kick off at 15-city tour in Las Vegas on Tuesday (April 10). The shows will be rescheduled for Fall 2012. Vedder's planned performance at the upcoming New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been canceled altogether.

"After having worked aggressively with doctors and physical therapists for the last eight weeks to repair the damage, the intensity of the injury and the time needed to heal has made it impossible to play the shows as scheduled," Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis says in a statement. "There was hope up until the last minute that the treatments would be successful."

Vedder is touring in support of his album "Ukulele Songs."
