Edward James Olmos claims 'Green Hornet' role

Edwardjamesolmos_battlestargalactica_290 Seth Rogen's "Green Hornet" is getting a little extra help from the admiral.

Edward James Olmos, who played Admiral Adama on television's "Battlestar Galactica" reboot, is joining the cast of Rogen's superhero update. Hollywood Snitch tracked down the actor at Chicago's Wizard World sci-fi convention, and got a vague scoop on Olmos' upcoming project.

Vote for Admiral Adama as one of television's greatest characters.

"I'm on my way to do 'The Green Hornet,'" Olmos told the site. "It'll be a lot of fun with Seth [Rogen], Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz."

Unfortunately, that's all he would say, though based on his work for the series "Miami Vice," we can see Olmos stepping into the shoes of a gruff but caring police captain.

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2010.
