Ellen DeGeneres is fine, thanks, after experiencing chest pains Monday (Sept. 26). So says the comedian herself, who cracked wise about her medical issue in the opening of her show that afternoon.

"I like to tell you what's going on in my life, so today I'll tell you what's going on in my life because TMZ is also telling you what's going on in my life," DeGeneres joked about the report that she was treated for chest pain at her office on the Warner Bros. studio lot.

"I'm fine, I'm totally fine," she says. "The paramedics were actually strippers I had called -- that's how the rumors got started."

DeGeneres does eventually acknowledge she did feel chest pain, and that paramedics and nurses checked her out and gave her the OK. She also joked about the quick, and apparently rather large, response to her call.

"About 50 fire trucks and ambulances -- like one marching band short of a parade -- showed up outside of my office," she says. "They come in with an ax, break the door down -- it was open, I don't know why they did that."

We're glad to hear she's OK -- and we hope she does a follow-up appointment to see what caused the pain.
