Ellen Page comes out as gay for Valentine's Day: Watch her speech
Ellen Page has announced she is gay, and there couldn't be a better day for it. The actress came out during a Valentine's Day speech in Las Vegas.
"I'm here today because I am gay," the "Juno" and "Inception" star said in a speech at a Human Rights Campaign conference in Las Vegas on Feb. 14. "Maybe I can help others to have an easier time. I am tired of hiding."
Page also expressed a feeling of responsibility toward other young people hiding their sexual orientation. "I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility," Page said. "I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. And I am standing here today with all of you on the other side of the pain."
While most of Twitter seemed ready to date Page after the announcement, some of the actress' Hollywood colleagues also expressed their opinions on the news.
