mamie-gummer-emily-owens-md.jpg "Emily Owens, M.D.," the quirky medical dramedy starring Mamie Gummer, has been canceled by The CW.

The network will still air all 13 episodes of its original order, but declined to pick it up a full season. The show is shooting its final episode now in Vancouver, with production expected to wrap next week.

Another medical drama, FOX's "Mob Doctor" also received a fatal diagnosis today -- and like "Emily Owens," will finish out its 13-episode season.

"Emily Owens" had a poor prognosis from the outset: After its disappointing debut -- only 1.7 million viewers and a 0.5 rating/1 share in the 18-49 demo -- it has continued to struggle in the ratings. Only 1 million viewers saw the series' sixth episode last night (Nov. 27).
