"Ender's Game" is set to become the next novel-turned-blockbuster movie. The science fiction film centers around a boy named Ender Wiggin ( Asa Butterfield), as he goes through military training, preparing for war against an alien race.
He is trained by none other than Sir Ben Kingsley, in the role of Mazer Rackham. Entertainment Weekly released the first image of the heavily-tattooed Rackham, and spoke with Kingsley about the role. "In the script, which I think is beautifully written, what come across is the authority and mystery," he says says of the character, "There's quite a lot said about him in the story before you see him -- by the recruits and by his fellow officers -- and that's useful as far as preparations."
"Ender's Game" serves as a reunion for Kingsley and Butterfield, who starred together in Martin Scorsese's "Hugo." Other notable stars in the cast include Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld. The movie is directed by Gavin Hood, who helmed "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," and is currently scheduled for theaters November 1.
A trailer for the "Ender's Game" debuted at Cinemacon, and will be seen by the world when it launches with "Star Trek Into Darkness" on May 17.
