'Entourage' vs. Johnny Bananas lawsuit: Could a DVD be halted?

johnny-bananas.jpgProfessional "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" participant Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio issued a cease and desist letter to "Entourage" this summer requesting that they halt the storyline in which Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) appears on an animated show called "Johnny's Bananas."

"I intend to fight vigorously in defense of the years of hard work and dedication I've spent making Johnny Bananas a household name," Devenanzio tweeted back in August. (What households is he referring to, exactly?)

Now, Devenanzio has decided to go forth with the full lawsuit. THR reports that he is suing HBO, Time Warner, and "Entourage" creator Doug Ellin for "unwarranted, unauthorized, and unfavorable mention of plaintiff's name and personality, and allusions to plaintiff's physical and mental character."

Take note -- his lawyer is the same one who represented Lindsay Lohan when she sued E-Trade for featuring a milkaholic named Lindsay in the commercials. Because everyone knows Lindsay Lohan is the only milkaholic named Lindsay.

Devenanzio seeks an injunction, meaning that HBO would be barred from distributing the show's seventh and final season in DVDs and syndication, which would put a serious damper on promotion for the rumored upcoming "Entourage" movie.
