Erin Brockovich mug shot: Drunk boat-driving does not make for a good photo
The arrest photo, released by the Clark County Detention Center, shows a distinctly sunburned and disheveled Brockovich. Although not smiling, she at least does not have the angry frown worn by many during an arrest.
An environmental activist and a former legal assistant (the job that was featured in the Oscar winning film, "Erin Brockovich"), Erin Brockovich-Ellis was arrested by police on Lake Mead when she was observed struggling to dock her boat. After a breath test showed more than twice the legal limit for intoxication while operating a motor vehicle, Brockovich-Ellis was arrested. Police later released her on $1000 bail.

The legal celebrity later released a statement via TMZ, apologizing and explaining her actions on Friday:
"I apologize for my actions Friday evening. After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized. It is very important to note that I was not operating the boat in open waters, I was moving it within its own slip. At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk. That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry."
