Facebook IPO: Sheryl Sandberg may be one of the richest self-made women in the world
Last year she earned a base salary of $295,833 with an $86,133 bonus. According to the S-1 filing, Sandberg has 1,899,986 shares Facebook common stock. She also holds 39,321,041 options and restricted stock units which haven't yet vested. That happens four years from this October. The Business Insider estimates that Sandberg might worth $2 billion when that happens. So, Sheryl, we're just putting it out there that we're up for adoption. No pressure or anything.
Sandberg told the DLD Conference in Munich that social media was a "really unique bright spot" in a bad economy. According to All Things D, she said, "It's not just posts and pictures and the fun things with friends, but this is really serious stuff. This is about growth, this is about jobs and empowering people." For the record, Oprah Winfrey tops the list of the world's wealthiest self-made women with a worth of $2.7 billion.
