Fall TV 2014: 'Marry Me' and 'Allegiance' picked up to series at NBCAdd to Favorites | The Mysteries of Laura
NBC has also picked up a drama called "Allegiance" (formerly "Coercion") that bears more than a little resemblance to FX's "The Americans."
"Marry Me" stars Wilson (she and Caspe are engaged in real life) and Ken Marino ("Party Down," "Veronica Mars") as a couple who've been dating for several years. He's finally ready to propose, but she's just about reached the breaking point wondering if it will ever happen.
The cast also includes Sarah Wright ("The Loop," "Parks and Recreation"), John Gemberling ("Broad City"), Tymberlee Hill ("Grey's Anatomy") and Tim Meadows ("SNL," "Mean Girls"). Caspe is executive producing the show with Jamie Tarses and pilot director Seth Gordon.
"Allegiance" is based on an Israeli series and was adapted by George Nolfi ("The Bourne Ultimatum," "The Adjustment Bureau"). It stars Gavin Stenhouse as a young CIA analyst who learns his parents (Hope Davis and Scott Cohen) are former Kremlin spies who have just been reactivated after years living a normal life in the United States.
NBC will announce its full schedule for next season on Sunday (May 11); you can see Zap2it's schedule suggestions here.
