'Fantastic Four' to cross over with 'X-Men' film universe, according to Mark Millar

Could 20th Century Fox's comic book movies crossover in the same way Marvel's are? Yes, according to Fox's creative consultant Mark Millar.

In an interview with SFX, Millar says that there could be a day where the established "X-Men" film universe (which is already coming together in the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past") and the upcoming "Fantastic Four" movie intersect with one another.

"Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other's movies," he says. "I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until 'The Avengers' came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in 'Iron Man.' Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool -- and I expect we will see more of that."

Of course, this is no guarantee that the franchises will crossover any time soon. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" comes out on May 23, while Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot isn't due out until March 6, 2015.
