'Fast & Furious' regains 'Tokyo Drift's' Lucas Black for three more films
The "Fast & Furious" franchise is finally coming full circle. "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" star Lucas Black is rejoining the series after only appearing in its third movie.
As fans of the street racing film series know, "Tokyo Drift" -- the third "Fast & Furious" movie released -- actually takes place chronologically after the events of "Fast & Furious 6." The final scene in "Fast & Furious 6" resolved a plot line in "Tokyo Drift" and also presented "Fast & Furious 7's" villain, meaning that the series will finally catch up to the "Tokyo Drift" timeline in its next installment.
Deadline reports that Black will reprise his role as Sean Boswell in "at least the next three installments" of the "Fast & Furious" franchise. That means Universal Pictures is planning for the series to continue on through at least "Fast & Furious 9," and that Sean will finally become a central character in the larger "Fast" universe." What do you think of that news, "Fast & Furious" fans?
"Fast & Furious 7" is due in theaters on July 11, 2014.
