'Fifty Shades of Grey' lands director Sam Taylor-Johnson, but who will play Christian and Anastasia?

sam-aaron-taylor-johnson.jpgBritish director Sam Taylor-Johnson has landed the coveted job of bringing best selling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" to the screen.

Taylor-Johnson made her directorial debut on 2009's John Lennon bio-pic "Nowhere Boy," which starred her now husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson (who also played the lead in "Kick-Ass"). Deadline broke the news of her "Fifty Shades" hire.

Since there are currently no actors attached to the lead "Fifty Shades" roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, it wouldn't be surprising to see speculation that Taylor-Johnson's husband could land the gig as Christian. But would that be too awkward for a married couple?

We'll find out soon, as finding the right director was considered to be the next step before nailing down a cast. Kelly Marcel ("Terra Nova") has already written the script and Focus and Universal are set to release.
