Figure skater Johnny Weir marries Victor Voronov
The skater couldn't be more excited about the news. He writes on Twitter, "I'm married! Wedding in summer! But all the official stuff is done now! No more livin' in sin!"
Victor Voronov also used the 140-character site to put out the news, "Ringing in the New Year with my new hubby."
According to People magazine, the two were wed on Dec. 30 in a civil ceremony at the New York City Courthouse. Weir's rep tells the publication that they will change their last name to Weir-Voronov. Professionally, however, the skater will still go by Johnny Weir.
In a statement, the three-time U.S. figure skating champ says, "Marrying Victor has been the greatest moment in my life and I will work very hard to make him proud and happy. As an added benefit to all this joy, marriage gives your skin an amazing glow. I look forward to making a home for my family in Bergen County, New Jersey, and introducing my world of glitter and Faberge eggs to Victor."
Victor Voronov is a 28-year-old Georgetown Law grad.
