In the sneak peek below, stars Heather Graham (Corinne) and Kiernan Shipka (Cathy) discuss working with the powerful women who play their mothers.

"She's really cool. She's pretty much totally opposite of her character," Graham says of Ellen Burstyn. "On set she was very scary, I have to say. I think she really got into character those days, especially when she was super scary and abusive."

Says Shipka, "I think that Cathy and Corinne have a really fun relationship to play because at first it's very subtle. Cathy likes her mother in the beginning, but since Cathy's sort of a pessimistic person, she's sort of the first person to realize what Corinne is doing."

"Flowers in the Attic" follows four siblings who are trapped in the attic of their rich grandmother's house and systematically abused over the course of several years. "Petals on the Wind," is scheduled to air on Lifetime May 24.
