Forbes Celebrity 100 2012: Jennifer Lopez knocks Lady Gaga out of the top spot

Jennifer-Lopez.jpgWhen it comes to money and fame, the editors at Forbes magazine think Jennifer Lopez has the best combination in showbiz. The "American Idol" judge (who may want to hold on to her seat at the judge's table now) knocked Lady Gaga out of the top spot to lead the 2012 list.

Lopez, who Forbes says took home $52 million in pay in the last 12 months, is followed by Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Winfrey, Bieber and Rihanna -- incidentally -- all took home more cash than J.Lo but, explains the magazine, the Celebrity 100 list isn't based purely on numbers.

"We define fame as media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power, which we measure by looking at each celebrity's presence on Facebook and Twitter."

New to this year's list: Ashton Kutcher, thanks to his addition to the cast of CBS' " Two and a Half Men" and sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, who have translated their "reality" into millions of dollars.

The top 10:

1. Jennifer Lopez
2. Oprah Winfrey
3. Justin Bieber
4. Rihanna
5. Lady Gaga
6. Britney Spears
7. Kim Kardashian
8. Katy Perry
9. Tom Cruise
10. Steven Spielberg
