Just after midnight on Saturday (May 4), Nixon was pulled over after another driver reported that his Dodge Ram was weaving all over the road, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office incident report. Nixon remains in jail on an $11,800 bond.

Officers initially found a crack pipe in Nixon's pants pocket and what they suspect is a crack rock on the driver's seat. They later found another pipe, other paraphernalia and more suspected crack rocks on the floor of the truck.

Nixon was arrested on charges of cocaine possession and possession of a drug-related object. The 54-year-old former baseball player told the officers the pipes and drugs belong to his son and that he was planning on getting rid of them.

Officers determined via field sobriety tests that Nixon was not under the influence of crack cocaine or alcohol at the time of the arrest.
