The series, created by "The Butler" director Lee Daniels and writer Danny Strong, will officially have a home on FOX's new schedule. The show stars Terrence Howard as a hip hop music mogul named Lucious who is about to take his entertainment empire public.

"Empire" will feature both original and current music.

Howard also stars in FOX's limited series "Wayward Pines."
