fox-renewals-2013-fall.jpgFOX has announced its early pick-ups for the Fall 2013 season, and they're bringing good news for fans of "The Following" and three Tuesday comedies.

Kevin Williamson's controversial serial killer drama, "The Following," starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, has been renewed for Season 2 -- no surprise, seeing as it's the only bona fide midseason hit from any of the major networks.

"From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding," says Kevin Reilly, FOX's Chairman of Entertainment. "Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I'm delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season."

Also returning are comedy mainstays "New Girl" and "Raising Hope," and the freshman "Mindy Project."

"We love working with these talented producers and casts who, week after week, create some of the funniest work on television," says Reilly. "These shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the FOX comedy brand next season and beyond."
