francesca-eastwood-birkin-tyler-shields.jpg Tyler Shields is no stranger to causing controversy with his photos -- a handful of "Vampire Diaries" stars once got arrested during a photo shoot with him, he got Michael Trevino to strip down mid-flight, and Mischa Barton's meaty photos certainly raised some eyebrows.

This time, Shields snapped photos of his girlfriend, Francesca Eastwood (yes, daughter of Clint) during a taping for the new VH1 reality show "Mrs. Eastwood and Company." She wasn't flashing a highway or standing up while the seatbelt sign was on -- but she was destroying a $100,000 Birkin Bag.

Listen, they had to get press for "Mrs. Eastwood" somehow, okay?

Shields gave the bag to Eastwood as a gift, but her spirits fell when he revealed that he wanted her to destroy the bag for his new photo project, "Fashion Kills." She protested, but Shields said, "We're talking about a bag. It's no different than a bag you get at the grocery store. You carry s*** in it." Ultimately, she was convinced to take a chainsaw to it, light it on fire, and gnaw on it.

Now, Eastwood has been getting hateful Twitter messages from viewers who didn't appreciate the destruction of such an expensive item when the rest of America is in a recession.

In response, Shields tells HuffPo, "People spend 200k on an album cover, they spend millions on catering for movies, they spend money to create things -- that is all I am doing with this. For all the people who hate it, I get the same amount of emails from people who love it. Art is there for you to decide -- you either get it, love it and embrace [it] or you hate it -- and most people decide in 10 seconds."
