'Friends with Benefits' video clips: NBC is lookin' for love at midseason

friends-with-benefits-video.jpgStop us if you've heard this one before: A group of 20-something pals tries to navigate the complicated waters of present-day dating, seeking support (and sometimes more) from one another. It's on NBC, and the title includes the word "Friends."

And it's not a remake. "Friends with Benefits," one of three half-hour comedies NBC picked up for midseason, is indeed about a group of 20-somethings. There are five of them, not six, there's no coffee shop in sight in the three clips below, and its sensibility is somewhat different.

The show stars Ryan Hansen ("Party Down," "Veronica Mars") and Danneel Harris ("One Tree Hill") as usually platonic friends who sometimes end up in bed with one another. Jessica Lucas ("Melrose Place") and Ian Reed Kesler ("The Loop") also star, but "Dollhouse's" Fran Kranz, who was in the pilot, tweeted over the weekend that his part is being recast.

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the writers of "(500) Days of Summer," created the series.
