'From Dusk Till Dawn' TV show has at least one 'Pulp Fiction' connection
The "From Dusk Till Dawn" TV series has a lot of things going for it, whether or not you're a fan of the premise. It's got director Robert Rodruigez very involved, Don Johnson reprising his role and a strong cast including DJ Cotrona, Wilder Valderama and Robert Patrick. Now has one more exciting element to sweeten the deal as well.
Texas Monthly (via /Film) first noticed that a structure very familiar to fans of Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" had popped up in Austin, Texas: a real-life Big Kahuna Burger. Rodriguez answered the question about the building's presence himself on Twitter.
"'That's one tasty burger.' #FromDuskTillDawn only on the @Elreynetwork," he posts.
So that means there's at least one connection to the world of Tarantino's movies in the "From Dusk Till Dawn" series. That shouldn't come as a surprise to fans, though. The way that Tarantino's movies all interconnect has been well documented, and Rodriguez's "From Dusk Till Dawn" films are in there as well. Tarantino confirmed in the past that both "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "Kill Bill" are "Movie movies," meaning they're all films that the characters in his other movies watch. Yes, really.
As both Rodriguez and Tarantino's movies get bigger and more audacious with each passing year, it's exciting to see that they're both keeping this expanded universe close to their hearts.
