"Galavant" is an odd show. A musical comedy set in medieval times, the show is more or less "Spamalot" meets "Game of Thrones." Maybe they're not the most obvious two things to combine, but it just might be crazy enough to work.

Watch the trailer here.

Starring Joshua Sasse as the valiant knight, Galavant, the comedy is a story of lost love and revenge and singing. Timothy Omundson ( "Psych"), Mallory Jansen, Vinnie Jones, Karen David and Luke Youngblood also appear in the show.

Need some credentials for the singing and dancing parts? Alan Mencken -- the composer behind "The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast" and more -- provided the music and Glenn Slater ("Tangled") wrote the lyrics. Dan Fogelman ("Crazy, Stupid, Love," "Tangled," "The Neighbors") is the executive producer for the jokes and plot and whatnot.

"Galavant" will air Sundays in the winter on ABC.
