'Game of Thrones' announces epic Roast of King Joffrey
The King of Westeros, Joffrey Baratheon, is one of the most reviled people around. In fact, according to HBO's analysis of the past year, he is actually the most hated TV character on the internet. Fans haven't let their rage at Joffrey's actions be ignored (actor Jack Gleeson certainly knows how much people despise his character), and now they're being encouraged to let all that anger out.
From Dec. 12 to Dec. 13, HBO will be hosting the Roast of King Joffrey. Everyone can join in the bashing on the young prince by using the hashtag #RoastJoffrey on Twitter, Facebook, Vine and Instagram. Viewers can tune into the fun by going to the website RoastJoffrey.com (which is live now) to see the best of the submissions and add their own.
The @GameofThrones handle is moderating the event, which will feature some very special guests. Vine queen Maisie Williams, Hodor himself Kristian Nairn and Joffrey's onscreen uncle/true father Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, as well as other celebrities and social content creators, will all join in on the Joffrey bashing.
Meanwhile, HBO representatives will stand by at eight US colleges including USC, Georgia Tech and Florida State to host "study break" pop-up roasts so that students there can film and contribute content "from the throne" and upload it straight to RoastJoffrey.com
