'Game of Thrones': Best show-related stuff on the net
Have you ever wanted to yell, "Stick them with the pointy end" while brandishing Arya's sword, Needle? You can! A company named Valyrian Steel makes replicas of all the swords from the film. Remember the Longclaw replica from the episode "The Russian Rocket Reaction" from "The Big Bang Theory?" (The one with Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner.) Yup! They have that too. "What do we say to the god of death?" "Not today!"
Gamers were thrilled to hear the announcement of a "Game of Thrones" video game. he RPG will be released on May 15, 2012 for the PS3, PC and Xbox 360. There are new information such as character profiles, story details and even video clips and screenshots on the game developer's website.
There is no denying that the theme song (and the opening credits) are amazing on "Game of Thrones." What makes it even better is metal. We found a version of the song on YouTube that blew our minds. Check out WhiteNoiseLab's cover and thank us later. You can also check out a pretty amazing violin cover here.
Etsy.com has a ridiculous number of "Game of Thrones"-inspired items, including pennies stamped with "Winter is Coming," shirts with the names of the Stark children and the direwolves, a patch that says "Hodor" and a necklace emblazoned with the Dothraki endearment "shekh ma shieraki anni" or "my sun and stars." But our favorite of all is a throw pillow with "Winter is coming" on it. See Mom? I do use throw pillows!
We found a "Game of Thrones" beer stein, perfect for drinking assorted beverages while watching the show. We'll have to come up with a new drinking game for this season. Last season, it was a shot every time Ned Stark mentioned his honor. Wil Wheaton actually brews his own beer and tweeted about his "Stark's Winter Warmer ... because Winter is coming." Just promise us that if you do grab one of these steins, you won't drink anything Cersei gives you. That never turns out well. "Game of Thrones" returns on April 1st on HBO.
