Goodbye forever, Joffrey Baratheon.

The King of Westeros took his sweet time marrying his bride, but didn't get to enjoy his honeymoon. Joffrey died -- seemingly was murdered -- at his wedding feast in "Game of Thrones" Season 4, episode 2, "The Lion and the Rose."

Now non-book readers realize why all their friends who knew the Purple Wedding was coming were so looking forward to it. But while people may be happy to say goodbye to Joffrey and his smirk, the cast is sad to say goodbye to the actor who played him: Jack Gleeson.

It's no secret that Gleeson is the polar opposite of Joffrey. Now that his run on "Game of Thrones" is over, the 21-year-old will dedicate his time to his studies at Oxford's Trinity College. But though he's done acting, Gleeson's mark will forever be left on the world of "Game of Thrones."

Watch the above video to see cast members and author George R.R. Martin say goodbye to Gleeson and Joffrey.

Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal (who plays Oberyn Martell) also shares his thoughts on Gleeson to Zap2it.

"I won't lie, I will say that Jack Gleeson is probably one of the nicest, most thoughtful people I've met, regardless of his association to playing such an epic villain. If I had met him under any circumstance and he wasn't famous and I just had met him because a friend introduced me or something, I probably would have walked away thinking to myself, 'My god, what a lovely person that was,'" Pascal says with a laugh. "He's a really lovely guy, and he's really smart. He's definitely smarter than me."

"Game of Thrones" Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
