Skrein has been revealed as the successor of Jason Statham in the upcoming reboot of the "Transporter" film franchise, taking over the central role of Frank Martin, Variety reports.

"We searched everywhere to find a fresh face who had the potential to become an action movie star and we've found the right match with Ed Skrein, who's not only a great actor but also has enough charisma and physical stamina to play Frank Martin with brio," EuropaCorp (the production company behind the franchise) CEO Christophe Lambert tells the publication.

Plot details are being kept quiet, but Lambert says the first installment of the reboot will return to the French Riviera, the site of the first film, and give more depth to the main character. That will include an exploration of his relationship with his father, a role promised to be filled by a prominent actor.

Do you think Skrein is a good fit to replace Statham? And is the "Transporter" franchise a step up from "Game of Thrones"? Or a step down? Sound off in the comments below.
