'Game of Thrones': George R.R. Martin releases 'Winds of Winter' chapter

George-RR-Martin.jpgFans of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" are in heaven. Author George R.R. Martin has released a chapter from the upcoming sixth book, "Winds of Winter" on his blog. The author, who's first book in the series is now a wildly popular HBO show, "Game of Thrones," (on which Martin is an executive producer) only recently released the fifth book, "A Dance With Dragons."

Now that is a great gift for the holidays! We had to wait a whole six years for the last book. Now a mere five months after it's release, we get to read a bit from the next installment! But wait ... that's not all. Martin promises that when the paperback comes out in July of 2012, there will be yet another preview. Now, this is just speculations on our part, of course, but it seems like the incredible success of the TV show has really lit a fire under Martin. We couldn't be happier.

The chapter is called "Theon." We don't want to give out any accidental spoilers for those of you who haven't caught up, but we've included the link to the chapter above. Martin is known for rewriting his work, so for all we know, this might change when the book is finally published. Are you a fan of the series? We'd love to hear your reaction to the chapter. But do Martin's newer fans a favor. Please let people know if you're going to post spoilers of any kind so they can enjoy it the same way you did.
