"Game of Thrones" has hit a major milestone: It is officially HBO's most watched series of all time. The cable network's previous high was the 18.2 million viewers who tuned in for "The Sopranos" series finale, but now "Game of Thrones" has passed it with its average of 18.4 million weekly viewers in Season 4.
That average gross audience number comes from a combination of first-run ratings, encore showings and HBO Go and on demand viewings. Season 3 of "Game of Thrones" brought in an average of 14.4 million viewers weekly.
With two episodes left of Season 4, that number will likely rise even beyond 18.4 million weekly viewers. The number of live viewers has been rising since the premiere, and chances are it will peak with the Season 4 finale, "The Children," which airs on June 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
