'Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage, wife Erica Schmidt expecting their first child
He may play a snarky "imp" who likes to frequent the cat houses and tipple the wine on HBO's new hit drama "Game of Thrones," but in real life Peter Dinklage is a family man. Dinklage and his wife Erica Schmidt have announced they are going to be first-time parents, a rep for the couple tells US Weekly. Happy Father's Day, Peter!
After breaking out in "The Station Agent," a 2003 movie also starring Michelle Williams and Patricia Clarkson, Dinklage (who turns 42 on Saturday, June 11) went on to play Marlowe Sawyer on "Nip/Tuck" and star in both versions of "Death at a Funeral." But now he plays the hilarious Lord Tyrion Lannister on HBO's "Game of Thrones," a new drama garnering both fans' and critics' praise.
Wife Erica is a theatre actress and director and a graduate of Vassar College. She and Dinklage eloped to Las Vegas in 2005.
Congratulations to Peter and Erica.
