"Game of Thrones" may be getting another contender for the Iron Throne soon: Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will visit the Northern Ireland studios where the HBO series does much of its filming.

The official Twitter account for the British monarchy announced Wednesday (June 18) that the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, would visit the Belfast headquarters of the hugely popular fantasy show.

Is the Queen a fan? That's hard to say, but she is almost definitely a fan of the economic benefits brought by "Game of Thrones" -- it is estimated to be the biggest television production in all of Europe.

A better question might be whether or not Queen Elizabeth will make a bid to sit on the Iron Throne during her visit. She may not have dragons, but this is a monarch to be reckoned with, after all.
