Richard Madden was one "Game of Thrones" star noticeably lacking from the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. The actor, whose character Robb Stark tragically met his end in Season 3, didn't fly out to Los Angeles for his last possible Emmy appearance with the series he helped define, and the reason was revealed the morning after the awards show.

Disney's "Cinderella," which stars Madden as Prince Charming, began its principal photography in London on Sept. 23 at Pinewood Studios. That offers up an explanation for why Madden was unable to make the flight to California for the Emmys to join former cast members Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Kit Harington and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Also absent was Michelle Fairley, whose character also died in Season 3. The episode where their deaths occurred, "The Rains of Castamere," was up for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, but lost to the "Homeland" episode "Q&A."

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, "Cinderella" also stars Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Lily James and Stellan Skarsgard. It will hit theaters on March 13, 2015. Check out a first look at James as Cinderella below.
