'Game of Thrones' Season 4: Sophie Turner reveals whether Sansa trusts Tyrion, Littlefinger and Margaery
Understandably, she is a bit shattered when viewers find her in Season 4. A previously-released clip of the new season shows Sansa coping with learning how her mother and brother were murdered at the Red Wedding, and she's looking much worse for wear.
That's why it's not so shocking to learn that Sansa doesn't really trust her husband, Tyrion Lannister. Though the audience knows that Tyrion is genuinely looking out for Sansa's best interests, she doesn't treat him very well.
"I think Sansa wants to see him as an ally. She really wants someone she can trust, but he's a Lannister. She really can't trust him," Sophie Turner tells Zap2it. "I think it's also, in her father's name, she doesn't want to betray her father's morals to trust the Lannisters after what they've done to him. I think she desperately does want to trust him, and she knows he has a good heart, but there's just no way that she can trust anyone at this point."
So who does she see as her allies? There are really only two people, according to Turner.
"She puts her trust in Shae and Margaery, but that's about it," Turner admits. Of getting to act opposite Natalie Dormer in Season 3, Turner says, "They were my favorite scenes last season. They were so fun."
But what about Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish? He's always had a soft spot for Catelyn Stark and Sansa, and now that he's married to her aunt Lysa Arryn, he could be a good ally. Not according to Turner, though.
"She doesn't trust Baelish -- at all. After the whole Baelish betraying Ned, I don't think she's willing to trust him at any point. She's certainly very wary of him, but she's a lot more confident around him now because of stuff she's learned," Turner explains, adding, "I don't think she's aware of his feelings for Catelyn as deep as they are at the beginning of Season 4. Maybe she'll learn his feelings."
"Game of Thrones" Season 4 premieres on HBO on April 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
