'Game of Thrones' Season 4 trailer: Justice, unlike winter, is not coming
The new trailer for "Game of Thrones" Season 4 is so good we can hardly contain ourselves.
If you thought the show had reached its peak with Season 3's Red Wedding, you were so, so wrong. From the drama of Daenerys ruling her conquered slave cities to Jon Snow leading the charge against the Wildlings, the stakes in Westeros (and the lands beyond) are only higher in Season 4.
There are several especially phenomenal moments in the trailer. The conversation between King Joffrey and his uncle/secret father Jaime Lannister is pretty powerful, especially since fans haven't really had a chance to see them interact in such a close way before. Having Jaime call Joffrey on claiming the war for Westeros is won is pretty great.
Also, the battle between the Red Viper and the Mountain? All we can say is: Oh. My. God. It's going to be so great, and the moment when Pedro Pascal's Oberyn Martell tells Tyrion the Lannisters aren't the only ones who pay their debts gives us chills.
The scene where Bran touches the weirwood tree is tied with the one where Yara Greyjoy sails into the lands of Westeros from the Iron Islands. Theon has his armor back on at least (though viewers know he's lacking something else), and Tyrion has some wise words for the Red Viper: "If you want justice, you've come to the wrong place."
Oh Westeros, we've missed you.
"Game of Thrones" Season 4 premieres on HBO on April 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
