game-of-thrones-season-5-cast-jonathan-pryce-sand-snakes-alexander-siddig-gi.jpgAs expected (and hoped for), the biggest news out of the  "Game of Thrones" San Diego Comic-Con 2014 panel was some major casting announcements for Season 5. It turns out those rumors of Oberyn Martell's (Pedro Pascal) Dornish family joining the show are true.

Beyond Dorne, the coolest casting announcement comes with Jonathan Pryce (left) playing the role of High Sparrow. A religious group known as the Faith comes into prominence in Season 5, and the High Sparrow is at its head. Pryce is an actor known for roles in "Pirates of the Caribbean," "007: Tomorrow Never Dies" and "Brazil," and is the most recognizable name of the bunch.

Dorne will be a huge location in Season 5, with Spain acting as the setting for the new land. Alexander Siddig (center) is going to play Doran Martell, the ruler of Dorne and Oberyn's gout-riddled older brother. "Unlike his brother, Doran is tempered and deliberate. Now, all of Dorne waits to see how their lord will react to his brother's death," HBO says in a statement.

Playing Doran's son and heir Trystane Martell is Toby Sebastian. He is betrothed to Cersei Lannister's daughter Myrcella Baratheon, who has been recast. Nell Tiger Free will now play the character instead of Aimee Richardson. Meanwhile, DeObia Oparei will play Areo Hotah, the captain of Doran's palace guard.

The Red Viper might be dead, but his Sand Snakes bastard daughters are not. Jessica Henwick (top right) will play Nymeria Sand, the second oldest of Oberyn's daughters. She is raised to be "cultured, graceful and deadly with a whip" by her Eastern noblewoman mother.

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (middle right) will play Tyene Sand, the daughter of Oberyn and Ellaria Sand. She is known for her excellence with twin daggers. Finally there's Keisha Castle-Hughes (bottom right) as Obara Sand, Oberyn's oldest daughter and a fearsome warrior in her own right.

Rounding out the casting announcement is Enzo Cilenti as Yezzan, an "extremely wealthy slave trader before Daenerys Targaryen outlawed the slave trade."

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 is expected to premiere in spring 2015.
