At this point in "Game of Thrones," the list of characters who have been sent on their own solo storylines is far longer than those who are with their allies. Fans' dreams of one day seeing Bran and Arya and Jon and Sansa reunite have slowly faded as the realization has sunk in that what we want to happen and what will happen on "Game of Thrones" are very different things.
Yes, there really was a time the Starks were all together, all alive and all (mostly) happy. If only Ned had heeded Catelyn's gut instinct and stayed in Winterfell ... well, most of these people would probably still be dead. Valar morghulis, everyone!
That's why, as we said in the title of this article, this "Game of Thrones" Throwback Thursday post will make your heart hurt. With Season 4's premiere just around the corner and life getting very dark for fan-favorite characters, this look back to simpler times in Season 1 is just a reminder of how far this show has come.
