George Jones dies in Nashville at age 81
Country musician George Jones has passed away. He was 81.
TMZ reports that the country megastar was hospitalized in Nashville on April 25 for a fever and "irregular high blood pressure." He died on April 26, though his cause of death is not known.
Jones was in the middle of his final tour when he became sick and was hospitalized. Before his death, several of his tour dates had already been canceled. He is survived by his wife Nancy and four children.
During his almost six decade career, Jones became known as the greatest living country singer. He had around 150 charted hits, including the single "He Stopped Loving Her Today." Jones was inducted into the Counrty Music Hall of Fame in 1992.
