George Lopez recently ran afoul of the law, getting arrested at a Canadian casino for public intoxication. On Thursday (March 13), he appears on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to apologize to his fans and explain what went down.

When asked what he's been up to since the last time he appeared on Ellen's show, Lopez cracks, "Well, Ellen, recently I lifted myself off the casino floor in Canada. ... Apparently I'm a bigger Justin Bieber fan than I thought I was. But you know how they always say whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but whatever happens in Canada everybody knows."

He also makes a few jokes about how polite the Canadian police are and how, when he fell asleep on the casino floor, someone commented, "I didn't know the dog whisperer drank that much."

But in all seriousness, Lopez says, "Since then I have not had a drop of alcohol. ... I'm the new George now sitting here in front of you. ... Just because Mexicans invented tequila doesn't mean we can handle it."

"Saint George," the comic's new sitcom, airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
