George Lopez gets new TV deal; 'Red State' actor joins 'Rebounding'

george-lopez-getty.jpg George Lopez is coming back to the small screen, as he has signed on with Lionsgate TV and the Debmar-Mercury unit to create and star in a new sitcom about a Latino family. Lopez previously ran on ABC for six years with his sitcom "George Lopez." [ Deadline]

A trio of relatively unknown actresses have been cast in pilots. Jeananne Goosen joins the untitled Kevin Bacon FBI/serial killer drama for Warner Bros. TV, as Bacon's partner at the FBI. Jamie Chung has been cast in "The Asset," a drama starring Ali Larter as a CIA operative. Chung plays a CIA polygraph expert. And Charlotte Newhouse joins "Prairie Dogs," an ABC comedy where the title refers to drones popping up out of their cubicles and one man who's life is changed when his identity is stolen and that life is much more exciting (Monica Gellar says hey). British actor Barry Sloane has been cast in ABC's "Gotham," a drama about a female cop who discovers a magical world inside New York City. He previously starred in "Hollyoaks" and "Holby City" on British TV.

Matt Jones of "Red State" and "Breaking Bad" has joined FOX's comedy "Rebounding," about a man dealing with the death of his fiance with the help of his rag-tag group of basketball buddies. Jones plays a musician, who is one of said rag-tag band. [ Deadline]
