George Lucas 'very sad' about 'Star Wars' at Disney: 'I am a control freak'
Lucas tells EOnline that he's "very sad" about handing his operation over to Disney. "It was 40 years of work. It has been my life, but I am ready to move on to bigger and better things," he says. Those things include his educational foundation, to which he plans to donate the proceeds from the Disney sale.
He's confident that "Star Wars: Episode VII" can go on without him. "In a few months I will be able to be on my own and the transition will be all over with and I can go do my own thing," he says. "I am a control freak, so I have turned it over to a wonderful producer, Kathy Kennedy. I have known her for years. She is more than capable of taking it and making it better than I did."
He also plans to continue working in movies, but on a much smaller scale -- he predicts that no film he does in the future will ever make it into theaters.
