'Girls' Adam Driver as Nightwing in 'Batman vs. Superman'? - 5 better choices
On Friday (Nov. 8), The Wrap broke the news that Driver has emerged as the first choice for the role in director Zack Snyder's sequel, according to source close to the project. The report also claims at least two other actors are in the running for the role, though they remain unnamed.
Driver is, well, an odd choice for the role. He's great at playing awkward in his Emmy-nominated "Girls" role, but is he a crime fighter? Nah.
Without further ado, Zap2it presents the five actors better suited for the high-profile role.
1. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
JGL seems almost the obvious choice. While Affleck's Batman is a break from the beloved Christopher Nolan "Dark Knight" trilogy, Gordon-Levitt's appearance in "The Dark Knight Rises" positioned the actor to take on either the role of Robin or Batman, himself. Why not cast him in the role and provide a bit of continuity to the prior films?
2. Anton Yelchin
Sure, Yelchin is attached to the "Star Trek" franchise, but that doesn't mean he can't join another? At 23, he may be a little young to play Nightwing against Affleck's older Batman, but he's sure got the chops.
3. Michael B. Jordan
Again, at 26, Jordan may read a bit young against Affleck, but it's time the actor lands in a superhero role. Rumors persist that he'll be the Human Torch in the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot, but Jordan would also make a fantastic Dick Grayson. Really, he'd make a fantastic anything.
4. Milo Ventimiglia
Ventimiglia, like JGL, is an age-appropriate choice for the film, and he's got his superhero experience thanks to his run on "Heroes." It's high time he bounces back from the sad way that show petered out, and he'd be able to pull off the angst this sequels seems it'll be full of perfectly.
5. Matt Damon
Come on, you were thinking it, too.
Who do you think should play Nightwing in "Batman vs. Superman"?
