girls-season-3-hbo.jpgHBO has set its January lineup, with Season 3 of "Girls" joining a new drama, "True Detective," and new comedy "Looking" on the schedule.

"Girls" is set to premiere at 10 p.m. ET Sunday, Jan. 12 with back-to-back episodes before scaling back to a half-hour in subsequent weeks. Season 2 concluded with Adam ( Adam Driver) coming to Hannah's ( Lena Dunham) aid as she slipped further into her OCD, and Marnie ( Allison Williams) and Charlie ( Christopher Abbott) seemingly back together.

The latter pairing, however, probably won't last, as Abbott left the show just as work started on the coming season.

"True Detective" will premiere at 9 p.m. Jan. 12. The show follows two Louisiana detectives ( Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson) as they investigate a strange murder case in 1995 and return to it 17 years later when the file is reopened.

"Looking" follows three friends ( Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez and Murray Bartlett) as they "explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options" open to gay men in San Francisco. It premieres at 10:30 p.m. Jan. 19.
