Giuliana Rancic, E! television host and wife of "Apprentice" winner Bill Rancic, revealed on "Today" Monday (Oct. 17) that she has breast cancer. The diagnosis was revealed when she underwent a mammogram at the suggestion of in-vitro fertilization doctor.

The 36-year-old tells Ann Curry, "It was just a kick in the stomach. That was the hardest day ... It was incredible instant sobbing, and it was like the world just crashed down around me. I couldn't believe it, 36 years old, no family history."

Giuliana married Bill in 2007 and in 2010 they began their self-titled reality show on the STYLE network, which details their struggles with infertility and working with in-vitro fertilization. On their third try with IVF, the doctor insisted she get a mammogram.

"He said, 'I don't care if you're 26 or 36, but I will not get you pregnant if possibly there's a small risk that you have cancer because the hormones will accelerate the cancer. I never in my wildest dreams expected anything would be wrong," says Rancic.

Luckily, Rancic has found her breast cancer early and the prognosis is good. She will undergo some surgery and over six weeks of radiation. But she has not given up on wanting a baby.

"I'm not going to give up. I want that baby.... That baby will have saved my life," says Rancic.
