Welcome to another week of
must-watch TV list in which we ask ourselves, "If we could watch only one thing this week, what would it be?"
There are a lot of guilty pleasure shows on our list this week (and a few just happen to be on FOX!), which obviously we don't feel very guilty about. The heart wants what it wants, folks! And we're the last people to act too cool to tell you what our hearts long for.
Here's our must-watch TV this week:
Tuesday, March 8
Gwyneth Paltrow returns to 'Glee' (FOX), 8 p.m. ET
We know there's a lot of Gwyneth haters out there. Hate all you want, because we've been eating up her comeback 2010/11 comeback tour. Not enough to buy a ticket to "Country Strong" mind you, but you know. Reckless substitute teacher Holly Holiday is back at McKinley High this week to give a crash course in sex-ed. This involves her wearing tight black leather, taking on
Joan Jett's version of
Gary Glitter's "Do You Want to Touch Me?" and further romancing Mr. Schuester. And we're down with two-thirds of that.
Wednesday, March 9
After a rather lackluster Season 9 (you were thinking it, we said it), Season 10's extremely talented Top 13 (they are so talented, they couldn't cut it down to 12!) has us excited for "Idol" for the first time in a long time. Song choice is key and we're especially curious to see what country crooner
Scotty McCreery, quirky
Paul McDonald, jazzy
Casey Abrams and recent standout
Pia Toscano choose to sing. Also, we can never get enough of
Steven Tyler and his words of eternal wisdom. Yes, we're drinking the "Idol" Kool-Aid again and it tastes good.
It's makeover week! Are you ready to watch the women who once upon a time said they would do anything to win this competition be reduced to tears over their hair being cut off? Or the inevitable black girl who thought she'd get a free weave, but instead got a natural? Oh, and there's
Tyra Banks' favorite! When she cuts the hair off of the girl with "androgynous" features, so that her transformation into a man is complete! It's torture of the highest order! And we will have a popcorn and soda ready for the inevitable drama.
Thursday, March 10
To say that this has been our favorite season of "Bones" would be... a grossly inaccurate statement. Though there have certainly been a few amazing stand-alone episodes, the arc of the series since it hit the big 1-0-0 has mostly just made our heart hurt -- and not in the good way. But there's reason for optimism for the rest of Season 6. Booth and Brennan are returning to a more harmonious, hilarious and potentially re-romantic partnership and there's a new big bad to tackle. "The Killer in the Crosshairs" brings back Booth's sniper menace, whose threat may hit very close to home for the Jeffersonian crew. Also:
is back as Angela's dad!
The tension is building in Seaside Heights. Last week,
Sammi Sweetheart returned to the house to tempt kinda-sorta ex
Snooki had a (surprise!)
Vinny crush-related drunken meltdown. This week, it looks like
J-WOWW will bust new smoosh partner
Roger with another chick. Maybe she'll finally make good on that promise to "rip a guy's head off."
We're excited to watch the "Chelsea Lately" comics "down-under" all week, but Thursday should be extra fun when
Rihanna drops by the Australian broadcast. We have a sneaking suspicion that Ri-Ri and
Chelsea could be great pals and are hoping to see some chemistry when Chelsea sits down with the "S&M" singer. Plus, we're loving the latest addition of Fortune Feimster, who will be sitting on the round-table that evening.
Friday, March 11
Not very many people watch this show. And no, it's not "Twelve Angry Men" every week. But the two leads in
Jim Belushi and
Jerry O'Connell are likable and entertaining, plus the supporting cast in
Jurnee Smolett and
Tanya Fisher round out a very fun main cast. On top of that, they have a very Vegas-y take on the law. It's a enjoyable show. This Friday is the "season" finale, but by all accounts it is the series finale and I am excited to tune in one last time.
Sunday, March 13
It's the most wonderful time of the year for college basketball fans. A frenzied week of conference tournaments culminates with the unveiling of the 68 teams in the NCAA men's tournament. Let the March Madness begin!
If you could only pick one show this week, what would you watch?
