"Glee" Season 5 has pulled off another casting coup: Oscar-winner Shirley MacLaine ( "Downton Abbey") has been cast to appear in multiple episodes of the show starting toward the end of the season.

According to TVLine, MacLaine will play a New York City socialite who wants to turn Blaine (Darren Criss) into a superstar. The first episode with MacLaine is scheduled to air toward the end of April.

Most recently seen on "Downton Abbey" -- in which she plays Lady Grantham's mother, Martha Levinson -- MacLaine has a long film career currently entering its seventh decade. Her multiple Oscar nominations include a win for Best Actress in 1983's "Terms of Endearment."

Although not known for her singing and dancing in most films, MacLaine actually got her start on the Broadway stage before being discovered by Hollywood within a few years.
