Chord Overstreet is reportedly in the final stages of talks to return to "Glee." And, according to TVLine, Chord's return won't just be a one-off. Instead, his character -- Sam Evans -- will recur throughout the rest of the show's third season, which is already a hit with viewers and critics.

"We missed Chord and Chord missed us," says a source close to the show tells TVLine. "It's a win-win."

Over the summer hiatus, talks fell apart between Overstreet and "Glee" when, according to the actor, the show didn't give him the option to become a cast regular.

Sam is expected to make his return in the season's eighth episode. In the season opener, his absence was explained by ex Mercedes ( Amber Riley) who explained that Sam's family relocated out of town.

In September, a brown-haired (that's his natural color) Overstreet guest-starred as a teacher on an episode of ABC's "The Middle."
