'Glee' finale: Cory Monteith and Lea Michele on the emotional graduation episode

glee-graduation-season-3-finale.jpgEven though high school is a distant memory for most of the "Glee" cast, filming the graduation episode -- the Season 3 finale -- was a hard, emotional time for Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and other "Glee" stars.

"We just started today," Michele tells Zap2it in early May. "I've already broken down once, and it's going to happen again. Even though I know I'm coming back next year, I'm still gonna break down."

Jane Lynch says that although her character isn't going anywhere, the graduation episode was difficult for her too. "[It was] harder than I thought it would be. It was actually very bittersweet," she admits. "I had a wonderful scene with Dianna Agron the other day; Quinn is graduating and we had a really sweet kind of mutual respect sceen that was very moving."

Fellow McKinley High teacher Morrison says he's excited for the graduation episode. "It's a culmination of the three years we've had on this show. We're going to say goodbye to some characters. It's a really sad episode and I think that the Gleeks out there are going to love it."

Cory Monteith says the rumors of certain actors departing the series permanently are a bit premature. "You've just got to take everything with a grain of salt in a way, because you never know what's next. As sad as it is to see people leaving the show, or could potentially leave the show, I don't even know. I've read the last episode and you can't even tell," he says (they were still shooting it at the time). "It's a huge question mark."

Even Jenna Ushkowitz, whose character, Tina, is only a junior, says she's not positive whether she'll be back. "I mean, we're all sort of thinking about next season. We don't really know what's going to happen," she says. "I don't even know if I'm gonna come back! We really don't know. I hope so, but right now we're enjoying this last episode. It's really sweet and really emotional because we don't know what's going to happen."
